5 Years From Now...
As I was driving to work this morning (well sitting in the car- since I don't drive) I started thinking - I wonder what will stand out from our time living here. Will it be the crazy traffic where there appears to be no road rules yet still seems to work and the police are there to book you if you do something wrong - just nobody seems to know what they did wrong !; or will it be the things you see on the backs of motorbikes, like the 2 metre fishtank we saw on the weekend; will it be the food like Pho, which I could eat everyday; will it be homework, soccer training, study, 'where are my swim googles?'; maybe it will be my work, such an unusual place to work, or the opportunities we have had to travel to so many different places - who knows, but what I do know is Viet Nam will have left a marked impression on our lives and the people we have become.

What a night!!!!
It's Monday night and what an exciting night it's been. At 8pm there was a knock on the door. I check the peep hole only to see a green dressed man, who I think is a policeman. So I ignore him, the fact that the tv is on is probably a give away that we are home but still everyone has always told us not to answer the door so I don't. But its a little scary to see a policeman at your door so we, kaela, Bella, josh and I, hide out in Josh's room! After 15 minutes of knocking I finally gave in and come back downstairs, but I refused to open the door. So here I am talking to the police who are telling me to open the door with me saying "no I can't", they responded with we need to check your passports, which was not going to happen all these was going on whilst 3 teenage children are jumping around behind me giggling, Eventually they told me to phone the landlady which I did. She came around and sorted it all out. Which involved the two police coming in, checking our passports, filling in some forms, it was housing check. They did ask me why I didn't open the door which thankfully Mai answered for me saying that I didn't know who they were.
So I signed my name and everyone left. And now Josh can go to bed, Bella can finish her homework, Mikaela can go back to studying for her exam tomorrow and I can go back to reading yes it's work - why else would I be reading 'Just Grace and the Terrible Tutu'.
